Close to 85% of children with cancer survive 5 years or more – a huge increase since the 1970s, when the overall rate was less than 60%. For these young people, it’s particularly important to understand the adverse effects of life-saving but toxic therapies not only during treatment but over the course of a lifetime. Join us as we discuss life after childhood, adolescent and young adult cancer, the importance of researching its late effects, and resources available to help survivors thrive.
Presenters:
Jessica Busse, LCSW
Social worker
Busse supports patients and families who attend OHSU’s Pediatric Survivorship Clinic. She is part of a team of specialty-trained social workers who can provide advocacy, education, resources and compassion to help patients and families cope with cancer and survivorship.

Professor of medicine, OHSU School of Medicine
Hayes-Lattin serves as medical director of the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute’s Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program.
